This study evaluates the healing process and the incidence of myiasis in post-topping wounds in Holstein calves using topical application of Bactrovet®. Clinical monitoring of the wound healing process was performed, considering parameters such as epithelialization time, presence of exudate, edema, erythema, and the onset of myiasis. The application of Bactrovet® showed positive effects in preventing myiasis and a significant reduction in healing time compared to untreated controls and conventional treatments such as doramectin. The results support the prophylactic use of Bactrovet® in topping practices, improving animal welfare, reducing postoperative complications, and promoting a faster return to normal growth, which promotes animal welfare and improved production.es_CO
