A 5-month-old Siamese cat is presented to the clinic, which arrived with an accumulation of fluid in the right hind limb, looking transparent to puncture and compatible with urine after sniffing, it has difficulty urinating and 7 days ago it was 3 days hospitalized in another clinic due to vehicle trauma where he was treated with metronidazole, cephalexin, traumeel, prednisolone, vitamin C and lactulose. The ultrasound examination revealed free fluid in the hepatodiaphragmatic quadrant with hepatomegaly and a bladder with little fluid content. A primary profile was also performed, presenting increased BUN and Creatinine, for which he was kept in hospital under fluid therapy and medication for his stabilization. Subsequently, a urethrocystography with iodinated contrast medium was performed, confirming the diagnosis of urethral rupture due to trauma. An intrapelvic urethrostomy was performed and he remained with a urinary catheter for 4 days, and 2 days later he was discharged after observing that he continued to drain urine through the urethra. He continued the treatment at home with traumeel®, enrofloxacina®, quercetol®, prazosin, chlorhexidine® and topical dermicare®, presenting a favorable evolution of the surgical wound and his urination still 2 weeks after his surgery.es_CO
