In the present study, it was proposed to evaluate the concentration of malondialdehyde by means of the method of radioactive substances to thiobarbituric acid (TBARS) and how it is related to seminal parameters in 14 samples of fresh bovine semen, the study group was mostly bulls of Nelore breed, the samples were collected by artificial vagina, for their respective analysis the Eosin-Nigrosin staining tests, Neubauer chamber count, computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA) and the TBARS method were performed. Sperm lipid peroxidation was induced by adding iron sulfate + ascorbic acid and its concentration was determined by spectrophotometer (Thermo Scientific™ NanoDrop™ One C micro-volume UV-Vis) at a wavelength of 532 nm. It was found that the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in fresh semen, based on the TBARS measurement, are not related to the fertility of bovine reproductive males, since no statistically significant differences were observed (P > 0.05). between animals with good and poor fertility. however, it is suggested that the measurement of malondialdehyde concentration using the TBARS method in a short time does not yield relevant values for its analysis.es_CO
