The clinical case of a 7-year-old unsterilized male canine patient named rosco is described, who is admitted to the Vetermedicas Veterinary Clinic, because the owner reports that he has inflammation of the penis after he mounted a bitch and they were separated. by force. On physical examination, he is a depressed patient with pink mucous membranes, normothermic, without pathological noises on cardiorespiratory auscultation and with the presence of inflammation and pain in the glans penis and foreskin. Diagnostic tests such as complete blood cell count, Skyla diagnostic 2, Snap 4dx antibodies and x-rays were performed, yielding results with different alterations in the blood tests, however, focusing on the reason for the visit, the x-ray did not detect the presence of fractures of the penile bone, therefore, the diagnosis of balanoposthitis was carried out, intrahospital treatment was started to reduce pain and inflammation and correct the alterations that appeared in the other tests, with the passage of days no improvement was appreciated in this area and purulent secretions with necrosis of the penis were observed, therefore after a medical meeting it was decided to opt for scrotal phalectomy and urethrostomy in the patient, however, it was postponed several times due to alterations in the pretests performed, in the same way the treating Veterinary Doctor decides to admit the patient to the operating room to perform the procedure. Although he had a poor prognosis, there were no alterations during the procedure or postoperatively, his prognosis began to be favorable after a few weeks of hospitalization, therefore he was sent home with a medical formula with control in 15 days to observe the evolution of the wound.es_CO
