    Resumen : This research project focused on characterizing the emotions of third grade students of the San Jose Provincial School, La Santa Cruz campus, upon returning to their classrooms after a mandatory isolation at home and receiving their educational process virtually. The general objective of the research was to characterize the post-pandemic emotions of third grade students of the San José Provincial School, La Santa Cruz, Pamplona Norte de Santander year 2022. The specific objectives: a) Identify, b) Describe, and c) Analyze the emotions manifested by third grade students when they return to classes after the pandemic. A study was conducted under the qualitative approach, with the descriptive method. The phases that led the research process were: a) Identification and delimitation of the problem, b) Elaboration and construction of the instruments, c) Observation and recording of information, d) Codification and categorization of the information, and e) Analysis. The techniques used for data collection were participant observation and drawing. The instruments were the field diary and the analysis of the drawings. The key informants were third grade students of the Provincial School San Jose Sede la Santa Cruz. The main results showed that the emotions most expressed by the students in times of pandemic were sadness, fear and sometimes joy; on the other hand, the most expressed emotion upon returning to the classroom was joy because they could share and interact with their classmates and the teacher. It was concluded that with this research it was possible to have a more realistic view of the emotional development that the pandemic produced in the children, since it was possible to observe and interpret that they felt frustrated, confused, afraid and at times angry, having to study virtually, under a methodology unknown to them and far from their classmates, which did not motivate them much and that returning to the classroom gave them back their joy, happiness and motivation to study and interact with their friends and teachers.
