Las dimensiones del autoritarismo y su relación con la orientación política y los axiomas sociales.

Abstract

In recent years, psychological research on authoritarianism has adopted a multidimensional conceptualization of this construct in order to understand in greater detail its link with other variables. In the present correlational study, a sample of 1097 participants from different Spanishspeaking countries was evaluated through an online sampling technique, with the aim of analyzing the relationship between political orientation and social axioms with authoritarianism and its three dimensions: aggression, submission and conventionalism. It was found that right-wing political orientation and the social axioms of Religiosity and Reward for Application had positive correlations with authoritarianism and were confirmed as significant predictors of it. Likewise, the links with each authoritarianism dimension, the nature of the relationship with Fate Control and the absence of association with Social Cynicism and Social Complexity are discussed.
