Abstract

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) is an entity whose purpose is the production and dissemination of statistical research in the country, which contributes to the understanding and progress of the same, through the dissemination of strategic information, which serves to decision-making in agriculture, environmental issues, education, regional information, trade, industry, among other issues that are important for the development of the country. This entity belongs to the Executive Branch and is responsible for the processing of strategic information that serves as a basis for making decisions at the public and private levels. This entity has 6 national territories in the main cities of the country and each of them with sub-branches, which have the purpose of planning and guaranteeing the availability of strategic information. The Territorial Center Oriente, located in the city of Bucaramanga and with sub-offices in Cúcuta, Arauca and Barrancabermeja; which have computer and technological systems that provide agility for the production of information and ensure quality statistical operations necessary for the National Governments and Territorial Entities to make the respective decisions and execute plans, programs and activities in the pursuit of development economic and social.
