Abstract

This document presents the final proposal of the business practicum that was developped in the Televisión Regional del Oriente "Canal TRO" in Bucaramanga city, Colombia. This regional television cannel is widely viewed in the Santander region. This proposal has been the requirement for obtaining the professional degree of business administration at the University of pamplona. The folowing proposal presents an analysis of the scenario problematic from the businees administration approach focusing on the programming and production area of the cannel that coordinates and controls the productions that broadcast in public in terms of content, quality and frecuency, determining as main defect the lack of a structured and oriented programmatic template to satisfied the audience needs, being repetitive and innapropiate with the viewer´s request. Taking into account this problematics, the business administrator in charge designed an improvement proposal that emerge from a detailed analysis of the characteristics in the business scenario with the aim of optimising the strenghts and take advantage of the opportunities to deal with the weaknesses and threats detected. This research expresses the details of this improvement proposal, describing the busines structure of the TRO channel, emphasizing in the programming and production area and specifying the problems to expose the results of the proposal that has been designed, as well as the conclusions and recommendations that emerged from the professional purpose of the scenario assigned. In this way, the objectives of this research were sucessfully acomplished by the business administrator in charge pointing out the strengthening of the business development in the TRO channel.
