| Abstract: | In the following monograph, a study was carried out on the level of adoption of Industry 4.0 by the Industrial Engineering program in 30 Higher Education Institutions (HEI) from different regions of the country. First, a bibliographical review was made regarding the research topic and, concepts and technologies that are a fundamental part of this fourth Industrial Revolution were defined, giving an overview of how broad and important this topic is for the academic training of future specialists in the industry. Furthermore, the educational proposal, the curriculum, and the web page of the Industrial Engineering program of each HEI were analyzed to identify the level of incorporation of concepts and technologies present in Industry 4.0 that introduce current and future professionals in Industrial Engineering to the new trends, demands, and needs of the current and future working world. Then, a series of recommendations were established as a roadmap for HEIs to incorporate the Industry 4.0 concept into their curriculum, making their academic offerings more modern and attractive. Lastly, an analysis of results was made, focused on the level of adoption of the subject under study by the Industrial Engineering program at the University of Pamplona, with the aim of identifying the status of the program with regard to those offered by the other HEIs studied. In general, the elaboration of this monograph leaves evidence that higher education in Colombia must change its approach towards one with greater modernity and adaptability to technological changes, its academic content as well as its teaching techniques and methodologies must be constantly updated and change at the rate that the industry and work models do, since currently, the average level of adoption of Industry 4.0 by the Industrial Engineering program in the country's HEIs is low, relating only 13% of its academic content to this transcendental industrial phenomenon. |
| Description: | En la siguiente monografía se realizó un estudio sobre el nivel de adopción de la Industria 4.0 por parte del programa de Ingeniería Industrial en 30 Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES) de diferentes regiones del país. Primero se hizo una revisión bibliográfica referente al tema de investigación y se definieron conceptos y tecnologías que son parte fundamental de esta cuarta Revolución Industrial, dando una visión general de lo amplio e importante que es este tema para la formación académica de los futuros especialistas de la industria. También se analizó la propuesta educativa, la malla curricular y la página web del programa de Ingeniería Industrial de cada IES con el fin de evidenciar el nivel de incorporación de conceptos y tecnologías presentes en la Industria 4.0 que introduzcan a los actuales y futuros profesionales en Ing. Industrial a las nuevas tendencias, exigencias y necesidades del actual y futuro mundo laboral. Luego, se establecieron una serie de recomendaciones que se plantean como una hoja de ruta para que las IES incorporen en su plan de estudios el concepto de Industria 4.0 haciendo más moderna y atractiva su oferta académica. Por último, se hizo un análisis de resultados, enfocado al nivel de adopción del tema en estudio por parte del programa de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad de Pamplona, con el objetivo de identificar el estado en que se encuentra el programa respecto a los que ofertan las demás IES estudiadas. De forma general, la elaboración de esta monografía deja en evidencia que la educación superior en Colombia debe cambiar su enfoque a uno más moderno y de mayor adaptabilidad a los cambios tecnológicos, sus contenidos académicos así como sus técnicas y metodologías de enseñanza deben ser actualizadas constantemente y cambiar al ritmo que lo hace la industria y los modelos de trabajo, debido a que actualmente el nivel promedio de adopción de la Industria 4.0 por parte del programa de Ingeniería Industrial en las IES del país es bajo, relacionando solo un 13% de su contenido académico a este trascendental fenómeno industrial. |
