Circuitos conectores entre el patrimonio y la historia. Propuesta de conexión y revitalización urbana del patrimonio y valor histórico del municipio Salazar de las Palmas.

Abstract

TThe municipality of Salazar de Las Palmas is home to goods of patrimonial and cultural interest, which is not only historical testimony to the municipality itself but also to the state and nation: this municipality is a ground-breaking for coffee cultivation and exportation and holds a considerable part of the environmental, cultural, and religious heritage which is also part of the touristic attraction as well as its weather and the fact of being one of the first municipalities founded during the colonization period. All these facts allow the history there to be glimpsed. The interest in this location was born from the idea of the conservation of the municipality patrimony since it contains architectural structures from several historical periods which can be spotted by the features they have and some of them have also been declared as cultural interest assets. Based on this, the conservation of the constructions which have been declared as historical heritage as well as those that have not yet is proposed, taking into account the principles of architecture and urban planning, by creating public circuits which allow the creation of links between the patrimony and history to promote and highlight their value. Furthermore, this project intends to prevent the risk of potential modifications, to greater or lesser degree, on these assets which already have had place due to the transformations already executed. Partly caused by the lack of awareness of their architectural value and the history behind them, bringing this way a loss of cultural and patrimonial identity. This very project intends to expound certain guidelines to strengthen the patrimonial and touristic value that Salazar currently has by the identification of a historical center and the architectural urban project carried out for this.
