Abstract

This paper analyzes the characteristics that influence the wage differences by gender and gives a characterization to the labor market, taking into account the structure of the business fabric for the departments of Norte de Santander and Cesar for the year 2019. In order to carry out this project, it is necessary to identify whether the wage gap between men and women is caused by discrimination in the labour market. The use of the Great Integrated Household Survey (GEIH) provided by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) is envisaged and will be processed through the Probit econometric model; This will help to give an estimate on the labor market and estimated labor estimate labor income with respect to the explanatory variables worked on.
