Trauma craneoencefálico en cachorro de French Poodle con hidrocefalia congénita.

Abstract

Hydrocephalus is the accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid at the level of the cerebral ventricles, causing an increase in intracranial pressure. This pathology can be caused by different causes, the most common being congenital obstructive and trauma that is accompanied by nervous signology. A French poodle puppy with nervous symptoms due to trauma is presented for consultation at the Animal Centerclinic and when he underwent a clinical examination and diagnostic aids (hematology, radiology), a presumptive diagnosis of congenital hydrocephalus was given, which was aggravated by trauma. In-hospital treatment focused on sitomatology is performed. Because it did not evolve favorably and due to low financial resources, the owner decided to recommend euthanasia. At autopsy the diagnosis was confirmed.
