Abstract

We had a case at the Small Animal Veterinarian Clinic “Los Reyes" located in downtown Bucaramanga, about a five year old canine which race was pit bull and weighed 31 kilos alive. The patient was brought in because it had a claudication. Its owner told us that the animal would have become more sedentary and would have had pain when walking. We had the patient undergo physical testing and it did not show any disturbances whatsoever, except when we tested the animal using the Cajon test that it showed to be clearly positive diagnosing the RLCA. The treatment for this type of pathology was a surgery applying a modified Extra articular technique, that consisted in applying a fascia lata graft allowing an excellent articular stability, bringing back the normal functionality of the affected joint in a short period of time with an minimally invasive surgical intervention.
