Abstract

The crisis of the prison system in Colombia has ceased to be news for citizens, and on the contrary it has become a focus of indifference to be individuals who committed crimes in the past. The situation of the penitentiary centers for women is not the exception to the prison crisis that the country is experiencing. The rapprochement with women who, years ago, were the protagonists of crimes, allowed to begin the narration of their lives. For society, they are stained by sin, however, there is a human being behind the error. The jail is a place that seeks to rehabilitate the inmates and in their attempt most of the time fails in that mission. The main idea of this journalistic work is to make known the history of that woman who today is branded as a criminal, to show the hidden truth and to demonstrate that after the crime there is a great human being. Respectful research is born this project that aims to land in a writing or book that bears the name 'The truth behind the conviction'.
