    dc.descriptionLa producción in vitro de embriónes (PIVe) bovinos se debe ver como una alternativa para ser introducida en los programas de reproducción, ya que además de su importancia para estudios biotecnológicos posee fundamento comercial. La PIV esta siendo usada comercialmente por algunas empresas, con buenos resultados. El principal objetivo de la PIV comercial se basa en la obtención de embriones viables de hembras que no están aptas para producir descendientes por técnicas convencionales, como en vacas donadoras que presentan infertilidad probada por tratamientos con gonadotropinas o por disfunciones patológicas del aparato reproductor femenino. Hembras a partir de los seis meses de edad, gestantes hasta el tercer mes y vacas pos parto (2 a 3 semanas) pueden ser utilizadas como donadoras para la producción in vitro de embriones. Otra ventaja de las aspiración folicular guiada por ultrasonografía en la PIV es el hecho de que no es necesario el uso de hormonas para la obtención de los ovocitos. A pesar de estas ventajas, estudios relacionados con la maduración ovocitaria, fecundación ovocitaria y cultivo de embriones son todavía necesarios apuntando a la mejora de la técnica junto con la producción de embriones de buena calidad. El objetivo de este trabajo es describir la técnica y las principales etapas de la producción in vitro de embriones, actividades efectuadas en el marco de la pasantía profesional realizada en la Universidad de San Paulo.es_CO
    dc.description.abstractThe Bovine embryo in vitro production must be seen as one more alternative to be introduced in the assisted reproduction programs. It has importance to biotechnologies studies and it has been used commercially. The production of embryos in vitro (PIV), has been used commercially for some companies with good results. The primary purpose of PIV commercial seeks to obtain viable embryos of bovine females who are no longer able to produce offspring by conventional techniques, such as donor cows showing infertility caused by treatment with gonadotrophin or by pathological disorders of the reproductive female. Females from six months of age, pregnant women up to the third month, and even post- partum (2 to 3 weeks) can be used as donors for the PIV. Another advantage of follicular aspiration guided by ultrasound in PIV is in the fact that it is not necessary the use of hormones for the recovery of oocytes. Despite these advantages, studies related to the maturation oocitária, oocyte fertilization and embryo culture are still seeking the necessary technical and maximising the production of embryos of good quality. The goal dessse work is to describe the technique and the main steps of the production of embryos in vitro cattle, activities which were applied in the professional practicum carried out at the University of Sao Paulo.es_CO
