Abstract

Nowadays, one of the social problems that affect communities, lies in the shortage of educational, recreational, cultural, and technological spaces which promote individual and collective development especially those living in the rural area of a town where that infrastructure does not exist. In this way, Santa Rosa de Viterbo town is an example of this because it does not have an infrastructure that can offer this kind of activities for the population; in fact, there are no higher education institutions and the geographical location of the town makes difficult to travel to cities where there are universities due to the great distances. This preliminary design is focused on how the infrastructure of a cluster in educational services in the rural area will strengthen human, social, and economic development in the local environment and its regional impact from the macro to the micro in the local sector. Consequently, this rural educational cluster aims at promoting knowledge more widely in the countryside which plays an important role in the town's development. Therefore, all the opportunities and the development potentials can highlight the town in impact networks at the regional level in order to counteract the undervaluation of the rural area, the lack of ownership and give sense of belonging within the territory. In this case, the institution of higher education will enhance the economy, get science, and technology closer to the rural communities.
