Abstract

The contextual, formal and performative analysis as a guide for the interpretation of Elegía Op.24 by Gabriel Urbain Fauré for cello and piano, has the purpose of making known to the public and in particular to the music student an analytical study of the work based on the interpretation. Through this study the author's musical thought is communicated, which has been translated into one of the most representative works of the academic repertoire for cellists. The aspects addressed were the historical context, the formal structure, the language and the musical interpretation based on an analytical and comparative approach. This search documents one of the works that make up the cello recital as a grade requirement.
