It occurs when a foreign object, such as a toy, stone, sock, or any other inedible and/or digestible object, lodges in the dog's gastrointestinal tract, preventing proper digestion and elimination of food and fluids. Foreign body gastrostomy is a surgical procedure used in canines to remove foreign objects that have been ingested and are causing obstructions in the gastrointestinal tract, and whose presence can cause vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, abdominal pain, and even death if left untreated. on time and appropriately. We present the case of an entire male canine of the French Bulldog breed, 1 year and 3 months old, who arrived at the consultation with hypersalivation, retching, vomiting and lethargy. On physical examination, the patient evidences sialorrhea, intense panting, on palpation of the abdomen inflammation and reveals pain, which is why it is not possible to fully palpate and an X-ray (x-ray) and fast abdominal ultrasound were performed where structure related to strange body. |
