Abstract: In the posthuman era, overcoming mortality has become a central theme, examining the possibility of extending human life beyond conventional limits. Maria Blasco Marhuenda and Mónica G. Salome undertake in their book Dying Young at 140, a series of implications on longevity and cellular aging, in order to highlight the role of telomerase in protecting the body against aging and death. On the other hand, Rossi Braidotti, in his book The Posthuman, reflects on death as a Human concept, thus raising questions about the possibility of living much longer and the need for a prolonged life in the posthuman era. Given the above, science and molecular biology have significantly expanded the horizon of possibility of life from a philosophical perspective, thus challenging the traditional concept of death as an inevitable limit. The possibility of achieving immortality through directed mutagenesis is raised, presupposing ethical and moral dilemmas about the naturalness of life and finitude. In this context, the finitude of the body is addressed, as well as the bioethical implications of necrorobotics and the supposed replacement of death. Posthuman society thus faces the challenge of seeing death as it is conceived disappear.
