| Abstract: | In this monograph the topics of water treatment were covered, both how to make it drinkable, as well as what to do with the wastewater that is produced by human activities, all this is done in order to make the water safe to consume or to pour without causing damage to the environment. The processes used to make the water risk-free in general were shown, focusing on removing contaminants and waste in order to return the water to the waterway without affecting the ecosystem, and also taking into account the correct processes to convert the water into drinkable water, from the first moment it is captured from the main sources such as rivers, lakes, lagoons, or subway wells, we must also keep in mind the complications that occur in the process of purification, as it is essential to correct these at the beginning of the process, to avoid future problems, these problems could be as; The water is not clean, it brings with it sediments and may have the presence of dangerous substances, such as emerging contaminants that are dumped by the industries in the area. Another important issue is the discharge regulations that must be enforced, since the law in Colombia dictates that the water used must be treated, because it generally contains domestic and industrial waste, grease and/or chemical products, all this to emphasize that treatment is important because it prevents diseases, protects health, nature and the environment and guarantees safe water for families. |
