| Abstract: | The monograph presents the philosophical philosophical thought of Michel de Montaigne, based on a selection of his Essays, which essays, highlighting Montaigne's proposal of a practical philosophy, above all, linked to everyday life. Above all, linked to everyday life. Montaigne is a Renaissance philosopher of the 16th century, who the beginning of the modern age and after the end of the Middle Ages. the end of the Middle Ages, which influences his unique style and his critique of his critique of exaggeratedly academic philosophy. Montaigne, instead of being included in systematic, methodical systematic, methodical models or subscribing to a single line of thought, Montaigne of thought, he proposes a philosophy incarnated in personal experience, nourished by personal personal experience, which is nourished by self-judgment and self-thought. The text is tripartite: the first narrates how Montaigne defines and practice’s philosophy; In the second, his critique of erudition and false readers is exposed; and in the third, his moral lessons on what is moral and what is not, his moral lessons are shown in what makes up his philosophical ethics. All The third shows his moral lessons in terms of his philosophical ethics. All of this is explored through essays such as Of Presumption (Essays II, 17), Of the Education of Children (Essays I, 25), Of Pedantry (Essays I, 24), Of Experience (Essays III, 18), Of Cannibals (Essays I, 30), Of Cruelty (Essays II, 11), among others. Montaigne makes a vindication of philosophy based on humility and experiences. Thus, it is intended to Montaigne as a necessary figure in the philosophical tradition because he brings a living philosophy, far from he provides a living philosophy, far from dogmas and unattainable standards. |
