Abstract

This monograph examines power relations according to Michel Foucault, analyzing key concepts such as biopolitics, governmentality and the panopticon, developed in his work Discipline and Punish (1975). The latter illustrates how power is exercised through surveillance, not only from visible institutions, but also through mechanisms that shape subjectivities and behaviors. Biopolitics expands this vision, showing how power regulates life in areas such as health and population. This analysis allows us to reflect on how power dynamics not only control, but also open spaces to resist and transform those structures.
