Abstract

A study carried out on the effects of the detachment of biofilms on aqueduct networks determined that this has a negative impact on the quality of the water, which is subsequently committed by the consumer and is causing different types of diseases on people. Based on the above, the main objective of this project is to determine the main consequences of the presence of biofilms in drinking water distribution pipes, this by implementing a qualitative research method that focuses on the review of documents, articles, projects, research and bibliographies related to the central topic of study. As results, it is obtained that the main consequences of the presence of biofilms in drinking water distribution pipes focus on human health and water deterioration; the first causing diseases such as pneumonia, diarthea, gastroenteritis and chronic fever and the second negatively affecting the quality of water consumed by Colombians.
