A male Bengal feline was admitted to the Clínica Perros y Gatos, whose reason for consultation was decreased appetite, weight loss, claudication and plantigrade posture in his right hind limb. In the clinical examination, alterations were found in the evaluation of the spinal nerves, delayed stimuli during proprioceptive positioning of the spinal nerves. It was decided to use diagnostic techniques such as hemoleukogram, renal functionality (creatinine, BUN), hepatic integrity (alanine aminotransferase), pancreatic functionality (lipase), glucometry, glycosylated hemoglobin and fructosamine, showing an increase in the last three; complemented with imaging aids such as radiographs in latero-lateral view from left to right of the hip and femur, and ventrodorsal view of the hip, femur to the medial third of the diaphysis, tibia and fibula of the right and left hind limb, abdominal ultrasonography. Treatment was established on the basis of the findings, based on insulin therapy. Finally, after adaptation of long-acting insulin therapy in the patient, the plantigrade posture was no longer observed.es_CO
