Descripción de la producción de cultivares de caña panelera (Saccharum spp. Hibrído), en la vereda Juan Bueno, municipio de Arboledas, Norte de Santander.

Abstract

The following work frames the lack of knowledge that the farmers Juan Bueno village, municipality of Arboledas, have about the varieties of sugar cane (Saccharum spp. Hybrid). Based on this, the objective was to phenotypically characterize panelera cane cultivars (Saccharum spp. Hybrid) in the village Juan Bueno, municipality of Arboledas, Norte de Santander. The steps that were taken into account to carry out the characterization depended on information such as data from producers and variables: crop age, planting distance, fertilization, duration of the vegetative cycle, weed control, harvest method, which was taken from the visit to each property. The characterization of the cane varieties depended on common names by which the producers knew them, manipulation of plant material in comparisons with magazines and catalogs referenced within the work to finally make the morphological descriptions of the varieties found in the village. With respect to the results, statistics were made for the variables, in which production is emphasized according to the sowing method and the age of the crop, as well as the characterization of varieties in which they are, POJ 28-78, RD 75-11 and CC 01-1940, to conclude the results allowed to generate information both to the entity (municipal mayor's office) and to the farmers.
