Pólipo pilórico inflamatorio en felino.

Abstract

On September 15, 2021, a two-year-old male feline patient named “Niko” arrived, referred by a home-working veterinarian for a “nodular structure” at the proximal level of the duodenum, caudal to the pyloric region. Blood analysis was performed as a pre-surgical requirement to know the patient's condition. An exploratory laparotomy was performed with Heineke-Mikulicz pyloroplasty because the nodular growth could not be excised due to its location with respect to the pancreatic common bile duct. Biopsies of the nodular tissue were taken to perform histopathology, obtaining a diagnosis of polyp due to chronic inflammation at that level. During the days following surgery, the patient did not present vomiting again and only had a decrease in the amount of stool and progressed favorably after treatment with laxatives and a soft diet.
