Cryptosporidium spp., is a branch Apicomplexa protozoan of which mainly affects calves at an early age, causing economic losses in livestock production systems, as well as public health problems. In addition, the prevalence in tropical zones is variable and ranges between 9 and 50% in calves younger than 1 month old. In this case report, 10 calves weaning plus a pool of 3 animals of a farm holding dual purpose in the low tropics sampling. The diagnosis is made by direct immunofluorescence. prevalences of 100% (calves <1 month), 33% (calves 1 and 4 months) and 0% (calves> 4 months) was evidenced. Cryptosporidium spp. respectively Giardia spp. was also identified. It is important to epidemiological studies in the department of Arauca to help elucidate the behavior of Cryptosporidium spp., As well as its main factors of risks of infection in the low tropics.es_CO
