    Resumen : The present study developed in the National Institute of Surveillance of Medicines and Food – INVIMA, of Bogotá in the area of Secretary General, a diagnosis was made to know the general situation of the state entity, as well as the areas of work support that make it up, evidencing the strengthening of the inspection, surveillance and sanitary control presented by the PGD Document Management program, following this to propose a proposal called "Study of needs of the Document Management System model in the different support groups of the General Secretariat of INVIMA, in Bogotá D.C". Within the Document Management program, administrative and technical activities are established for the application, management, organization of documentation produced and received by INVIMA, in order to facilitate its administration, control, conservation and preservation in the short, medium or long term. Therefore, the implementation of a management system will allow you to ensure the integrity, availability, usability of documents as a historical source of registration and facts that support the public server access to information and preservation of the document. Following this apply an information collection tool (survey), where it is specified which are the most relevant points to improve and of this analyze the results in order to know the concerns and opinions of the workers and that strategies can give a continuous improvement to the documentary processes and finally what was their effectiveness of these studies.
