dc.description | En el presente proyecto, se sintetizaron resinas alquídicas a partir de aceite de palma con diferentes grados de acidez. Todas las muestras de aceite fueron acondicionadas mediante neutralización y deshidratación. La reacción de alcohólisis del aceite se lleva a cabo usando glicerol y usando como catalizador hidróxido de potasio. La poliesterificación de los monoglicéridos del aceite de palma se realizó usando tres diferentes polioles y anhídrido ftálico. Las propiedades fisicoquímicas de las resinas tales como la densidad, viscosidad, índice de acidez, índice de yodo y el contenido de humedad se midieron usando métodos estándar ASTM. Se determinaron las propiedades térmicas de las resinas usando análisis termogravimétrico (TGA), calorimetría diferencial de barrido (DSC), espectroscopia infrarroja por transformada de Fourier (FT-IR). Las resinas obtenidas a partir de los polioles mostraron diferencias significativas en el tiempo de reacción y en las propiedades finales. La formulación de la resina obtenida a partir de anhídrido ftálico, glicerol y etilenglicol presentó el menor tiempo de reacción y las mejores propiedades fisicoquímicas. Con esta formulación se procedió a realizar el estudio cinético de la reacción de poliesterificación, usando el método de Monte Carlo para la determinación de los parámetros cinéticos. Los parámetros cinéticos obtenidos a partir del modelo representan significativamente los datos experimentales. | es_CO |
dc.description.abstract | In this project, alkyd resins were synthesized from palm oil with varying degrees of acidity. All samples were conditioned oil by neutralization and dehydration. The alcoholysis reaction is carried out using glycerol and using potassium hydroxide as catalyst. The polyesterification of palm oil monoglycerides was performed using three different polyols and phthalic anhydride. The physicochemical properties of the resins such as density, viscosity, acid value, iodine value and moisture content were measured using ASTM standard methods. The thermal properties of the resins were determined using Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). The resins obtained from polyols showed significant differences in reaction time and the final properties. The formulation of the resin obtained from phthalic anhydride, glycerol and ethylene glycol had the lowest reaction time and better physicochemical properties. This formulation was proceeded to the kinetic study of the polyesterification reaction, using the Monte Carlo method for the determination of kinetic parameters. The kinetic parameters obtained from the model significantly represent the experimental data.. | es_CO |
