    dc.descriptionLos pesticidas son considerados como uno de los principales factores de contaminación del medio ambiente, ya que como es conocido son ampliamente utilizados para mejorar la producción de alimentos en la agricultura, el control de plagas y vectores de enfermedades. Muchos han sido clasificados como cancerígenos porque inducen daño en el material genético. En este trabajo se determinó la genotoxicidad producida por extractos de durazno (Prunus pérsica (L.)Batsch) cultivados en tres municipios de Norte de Santander, (Pamplonita, Cacota y Chitagá). El ensayo cometa fue utilizado para la evaluación de la actividad gentóxica y para la detección de residuos de pesticidas se usó la técnica de cromatografía de gases µECD ; Por cromatografía, se detectaron pesticidas como Endosulfán II, Beta BHC y Endrin Aldehído, que pertenecen a la familia de los organoclorados. Los resultados obtenidos indican que el extracto de durazno induce lesiones en el ADN de linfocitos humanos, que varían de acuerdo a la concentración del extracto. Dado que el durazno es un producto de exportación y de alto consumo en nuestra región, la ingesta de este podría convertirse en un factor de riesgo para la población.es_CO
    dc.description.abstractPesticides are considered as one of the main factors of pollution of the environment; as is known are widely used to improve food production in agriculture and for the control of pests and vectors of diseases; many have been classified as carcinogenic, because they induce damage to the genetic material. In this work the genotoxicity produced by extracts of peach (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch) cultivated in three municipalities of Norte de Santander, (Pamplonita, Cacota and Chitagá) was determined. The kite test was used for the evaluation of genoxic activity. For the detection of pesticide residues, μECD gas chromatography was used; by chromatography, pesticides such as Endosulfan II, Beta BHC and Endrin Aldehyde, which belong to the organochlorine family, were detected The results obtained indicate that the peach extract induces lesions in the DNA of human lymphocytes, which vary according to the dose of the extract;. Since peach is an export product and high consumption in our region, its intake could become a risk factor for the population.es_CO
